They are thrilled enough when I went from an ancient flip phone with a VERY tiny screen to a smart phone but, of course, told me the new phone was really too small. Hey, baby steps!
But 2 years later it dawned on me - if I upgrade to a bigger screen, 4" to 6", I won't feel the need need to bring along a tablet when I travel, because the phone will be much easier to view. And this one has FAR more memory (from 8 to 32 GB) and a kick ass camera (5 to 12 MP) so watch out, Photography Group. Once I'm up and running, I will aim to impress.
Of course, there's always a 'criticism' - it's not an iPhone. I wanted to stick with the make I had so that I wouldn't have to buy a new car charger (yea, I checked to make sure the old one fit.) And, I told them the money I saved buying this, as opposed to an equivalent 'bling' iPhone, will stay in my estate for them to inherit. That shut them up, right and proper.

(26,268 posts)I had a Moto LTE and I really liked the phone but it was pretty small and had very little storage/memory. My service is through Consumer Cellular, and their customer service is great, IMHO. They have videos on their web site for each phone they sell and they walk you through the process of setting up and learning the operations of the phone.
This phone is so new, to them, they don't have the manual on line, yet, but I downloaded in from the company. I had to contact them to make sure I was doing something right, so I went through their on line chat. They helped me out, in no time.

(19,962 posts)If you did get one, you can switch some of the Apps, Storage and Photos/Video to the SD card so your Internal 32GB is kept with as much room as possible. There's a setting somewhere to switch storage from Internal to SD.
Also, there's an app called www.Mobdro.com where you can get free tv (US, UK and European) ... I've been using it for years.

(26,268 posts)But I'm going to get a much more robust card for this phone. It will take up to a 128 MG. When the guy set up my new phone, he moved all of the photos from the phone to the SD card, for me. I've been pretty remiss on doing that, myself.
I'll look into that app!

(10,885 posts)Not only are their monthly charges very reasonable, their Customer Service, as you said, is terrific.
Haven't had to contact them often in the several years using their network, but when I did, they were most helpful and patient. It's been a pleasant surprise after being reluctant to leaving my former AT&T service.
Congratulations on your new phone!

(32,982 posts)My last 3 phones over 5 yrs have been LGs. I am not satisfied with their durability.

(26,268 posts)I'm holding on to the old phone, as a back up. It works great but I just felt the need to stretch my wings (and get a bigger screen for my aging eyes).

(16,334 posts)years ago, I joked I wanted one the size of an ipad with a handle on the back. It would function like a phone and a tablet.
Years later...now...the phones are getting bigger. I think my big one is in the works somewhere!
I hope you enjoy your new one!

(23,691 posts)I was laughing with some friends the other day about how big phones are now. Said pretty soon we'll just be talking into our ipads. I like the size of my phone 2.5 x 5.5. Easy to carry in my pocket. As I heard someone say they really aren't phones anymore, they're computers with communication capabilities.

(26,268 posts)But this one, for a little more money, had a much better camera and more available memory. My old one was great for carrying in a pocket. Guess I need to look for some serious 'cargo' style trousers.
I'm just very impressed with myself that I've been able to get the set up done, pretty much by myself. Ok, one quick chat with customer service to be SURE I set the data switch correctly. And, I had!!
