(73,631 posts)I wish that I had taken the opportunity to see more of Japan when I was stationed in Korea for a couple years.
Sadly all I saw was an airport stop over in Tokyo and a night in Okinawa.

(54,408 posts)I only went from Nikko in the north to Nara in the south, but what I saw was spectacular.
**on edit--I looked. Miyazaki is in southern Kyushu. We never made it that far south, unfortunately!
(Do they really say "konnichi-wa, y'all" down there?)

Went to Nikko on vacation too.

(54,408 posts)My brother lived in Sagami Otsuka, between Tokyo and Yokohama. Suburban middle-of-nowhere, but apparently at least affordable.
