I had to evacuate my apartment building this morning

Late this morning, I got a knock on my door from one of my neighbors, who told me she called the fire department because she smelled something burning. I had to get dressed quickly, grab my purse, and head out the door. The firefighters arrived and were searching the source of what was burning. It turned out that one of my other neighbors burned tater tots!!

A freakin' false alarm because of tater tots!!?? I've seen it all!

All I have to do is run the fan over the stove, open my window, grab a towel, and wave it underneath the smoke alarm.

I often smell wood smoke when there's nothing burning. I live across the street from a city park with lots and lots of trees. There have been kids setting fires there. I've called the Fire Department a couple of times because I smelled wood smoke. The poor guys had to search for a phantom fire. I don't call the Fire Dept. anymore.
