Got My Pension Paperwork In The Mail

89 days! They send it out at the 90 day point and it arrived pretty much the same day they sent it.

As of 2019, it's nothing or substitute teaching. I'm already authorized in one county and am working on the 2nd.

Then there are 4 HS and 5 middle schools within 20 minutes of the house. My wife was a teacher and she's convinced i'll like the interaction with that age group.

And subs don't do lesson plans, or grade homework.

Most importantly, i only work when i feel like it. Very liberating.

I think I'd like the experience but I'm not the spontaneous sort so I'm not sure how much I'd like responding to those phone calls in the morning.

And, i'm one of those that if i got a call early, even if i was sleeping, when i'm awake, i'm AWAKE.

I get what you're saying though. My wife wouldn't be one to take a call early AM and be peppy and ready to roll in a few seconds.

My sister worked as a substitute while she was getting her Master's in Education (she became a guidance counselor). She had to work around her classes, but if she did not take a certain number of jobs a months, the school systems (in the three counties she was signed with) would either drop her off their lists or move her down to the point she seldom got work.

I hope it works out for you.

They are REALLY looking for people who can do science and math. They get turned down by people who don't want to sub those subjects, while those are my areas of education and expertise.

So, i might get a little more flex on that.

Besides, if i work 2 or 3 days in the winter, and then occasionally in the spring and fall, for what they're paying around here, in one calendar year, i pay for my golf for nearly 4 years. Do that twice, and then i'll be dead before i run out of golf money.
