Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSo, here's 2 new feral kittens I am rescuing.
I rescue and spay/neuter kittens all the time. These two feral babies actually let me pick them up and take them inside. I feed their mama and about the 2 dozen feral cats in my little neck of the woods.

(8,207 posts)Your kittens are so lucky to have a chance at a good life because of you. They look really healthy, too.
I was able to trap my kittens' mom. She has been a neighborhood street cat for years, but it turns out she's a stray, not feral. I'm going to spay her when the kittens are weaned and keep her. The kittens are all spoken for, yay!

(6,804 posts)I found homes for them. They were born in Las Vegas. One, Charlie, still lives in Las Vegas. The other one, Bella, now lives in Washington DC. Both turned out to be perfect pets. Keep up the good work.

they'll have good lives.

(25,586 posts)One of the people helping catch him needed stitches in her thumb because he was so crazy, but it only took about 8 hours of me laying on the floor beside the cat carrier before I could reach in and pick him up.
They tame down very quickly at that age, but theyll never be quite the same as kittens born into a human family. My kitty doesnt purr, for example. Ever. Hes just unwilling or unable.
that's kind of sad. at least he gets love.

(36,289 posts)Unfortunately, Momcat escaped her one chance for entrapment and neutering. It was a bit of a hassle, and a little expensive, but I couldn't live without them now.

(3,275 posts)They were both tiny, hungry, scared, sick and flea ridden. The vet said that they were both a month old. Now two years later, they beautiful, happy, healthy, spoiled and very friendly. It was a spur of the moment decision to get a cat when he was found on the street. Then two days later the other cat was found on the street and I decided I would now have two cats. They became best friends the moment they met. One of the best decisions I ever made was getting these kitties.
Those kittens are adorable. Thank you for taking care of them.

Thank you for taking care of them and the feral community.
I took in a feral cat(a stub tail tabby) 12 years ago, with my allergies and all. My Baby Girl is my bestest friend.

(12,676 posts)They'll pick up their true color around six months.
We and our neighbors found a small kitten living between our property "trees" two weeks ago - a shy little grey/tan tabby girl with the same blue-grey eyes who blended into the gravel and juniper needles who was about a month old or so old. We took turns feeding her until one of us could catch her - and since last Wednesday, "Sassy" is now living in the neighbor's bathroom acclimating to their house - after soundly beating up one of their two elderly Shi-tzus and scaring the other so much it won't get near her...she's already setting herself up as the queen of that double-wide...
She liked the mom of grown kids next door better than the two small kids living at our house.

(178 posts)I'm a newbie. This is my first post. I've been lurking for awhile and thought I'd jump into the foray.
Them's kittahs are sooo cute. They melt my heart. I live in the boondocks and have rescued a few litters. Why do people think that dropping off kittens give them a chance?-----I guess because sometimes people like you (OP- original poster) and I rescue them. My spouse and I have driven two and half hours one way to deliver a precious baby to its forever home.
I often wonder if I'm part of the problem. But then I think, oh those sweet, trusting babies. How can you leave them by the road? Thanks for your efforts! (Imagine that; two kitty pics made me join.)

(205,996 posts)I've had more dogs in my life, but I still think kittens are the cutest baby animals. Thank you so much for caring for these little ones - and for all you do. The little black one looks like my Felix did. I found him in a supermarket parking lot 4 years ago and he's grown up into a beautiful cat.
