Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust discovered "the Last Ship" on Hulu, and apparently this has been going on for 5+ years now
Apart from the terrible writing, laughable, cliche-ridden acting, rah rah USA fight scenes where the Americans kill all of their enemies and never get killed, impossible virus containment where people in hazmat suits jump into helicopters with their suits still covered in contagion, AND the Michael Scarn-level conversations with the new president - there is also the religion. Where they are praying and calling on god and just openly violating everyone's religious freedom constantly.
Ugh. Does this series get better?

(5,328 posts)Whether it's war, zombies, asteroid collision, space aliens, or whatever, the series will gradually morph into a soap opera about the characters and how their personalities interact, until it finally jumps the shark and doesn't get renewed for the next season. It's very rare that such a series will ever reach a final resolution.
But I've just acquired the first season and it looks like it might be worth a watch, so thanks for the heads-up!

(102,357 posts)I only saw about 15 minutes of it, but, OMG. Might be worth it for amusement factor alone. The premise, the dialogue, the stereotypes, the horrific acting. OH MY!!!
My neighbors are elderly and their young grandkids were watching it, so I excused myself so as not to insult them.
