Hi Everybody!

Guess I’m new here although it doesn’t feel that way because I’ve lurked for so long. You guys have been my place to come for more than a year now and you say many of the very things I’m thinking. It’s more than a little embarrassing to say I’m from and live in West Virginia. Please don’t hold it against me. It’s why I didn’t join here sooner. I loved my beautiful state until the last election. Now I’m ashamed of so many people, even some family members, though not immediate, and the hate that they spew. It makes me want to change my license plate when traveling to other states so no one will see it and think I may be one of them. Even thought about getting a Lock Him Up or similar bumper sticker to show I’m not a Trump supporter but fear my vehicle being vandalized, which I’m sure it would be in this state. Anyway, I’m thankful to be able to tell you there are some of us West Virginians who truly abhor Trump and all he stands for.

There are deplorables everywhere. I live in blue CA (urban) but there are plenty of tRump lovers all around the city in rural areas. Duncan Hunter is up 8 points in the polls AFTER he was charged with financial corruption and AFTER he threw his wife under the bus.

Also, many other states try to steal our mantle of mental illness ( Arizona, I'm looking at you) but Florida is the one, the only, the sickest, the craziest, the most corrupt, the most bigoted but it is home...and West Virginia doesn't even come close. ..

It has been great hearing everyone’s thoughts and opinions from the first time I lurked. On Facebook I had been reading the Occupy Democrats posts but they didn’t come fast enough so I did a search and was thankful to find you guys.

I, too live in a red state. Thankfully, I’m on a little blue island. Like you, there are many of us living in red areas. Stay strong, vote for Democrats in the 2018 midterms and GOTV in your area!
