The High Church of Redemptive Violence demands blood sacrifices. Any problem that does not yield to the first application of violence must be subjected to more and greater violence until it is solved. It's the state religion of the United States of America, though you won't find that written down anywhere. But our citizenry's belief in the power of violence is so strong, so absolute, that it is taken as true without discussion or thought. It's a demonstration of faith that would put a thousand monasteries to shame.
