Yeehaw! Now to finish packing and moving. It's only a few blocks away so it should be easy.
Thanks for everyone putting up with my constant threads.

(24,300 posts)Yeah, I remember when I signed the papers on my first home and the people at the title company congratulated me on being a "homeowner". I said I bet if I stop making the payments I'll find out who the homeowner is.

(54,256 posts)OK, just kidding (sorta).
But I hope you're handy.
I bumbled my way through and learned (trial and error) rudimentary plumbing and electrical repairs, carpentry, etc. about 50 years ago out of necessity.
No way to afford to call a pro.
Welcome to the ranks.

(22,239 posts)During the last big downturn in the economy, both me and hubby lost our jobs within 6 months of each other and let the bank take the house back (which is fine because we were so far behind we were never gonna get caught back up and walked away).
I'm surprised that a little over two years later, we are back to owning again.

(11,175 posts)The ensuing lawsuit won't mention the bank. The owner named on the summons will be YOU.
You probably know this already, but, just in case, a tip from a plaintiffs' lawyer: Make sure your homeowner's insurance includes liability coverage.
And I hope you never need it. Enjoy the new digs!
