And married the most wonderful woman in the world. DUers from the time may remember the pictures (it was on a boat. It was also 1000 degrees).
We spent the next 3 years in Bombay, and then were back in DC just in time for The Enshittening. But we have, on our anniversary, received some amazing news, that my wife's next assignment is... wait for it: Paris.
I shit you not. Paris. For three years, starting next April. I will be clinging to sanity with my fingernails until then.

(175,752 posts)Paris is a wonderful assignment for you both. I know that you'll make the most of your time there. It seems long off, but April in Paris is gorgeous -- especially the second half since it can start out gray and chilly.
