Finally, I'm here in time to hear this amazing symphony, probably my fav of all Beethoven's works.

DFW and his wife are excellent hosts and we were very comfortable staying with them.

I did have WiFi and was able to be online a fair amount of time, but it was fragmentary, unlike here at home.

Watching the river pass by is an amazing thing! Enjoy!

I've loved the 6th since I was a kid and saw "Fantasia" for the first time.

Granted, that segment of Fantasia is a little cutesy-poo now that I'm older, but I still like it, and I love the actual symphony.
Watching Leonard Bernstein conduct it on YouTube is a real treat.

to play Mahler 2 a few weeks ago.

As a timpanist, my plan is to try to sneak out after the storm.

Humm, maybe I can convince the conductor to do have the storm hit first !
