She used that line in her speech at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. She she was the Governor of Michigan, that automobile allusion was appropriate.

We had a Ford sedan with manual transmission and the shifter was on the right side of the steering column. What a car that was!

That was almost 60 years ago and some things never change: Even as a kid, I was a Kennedy Democrat.

Learning which way to turn a screwdriver is easy (righty-tighty, lefty-loosey), but it's useful knowledge. Learning Mycenaean Linear B would be difficult but not at all worth the effort unless you are a very specialized archaeologist.

Some other things that are both easy to learn and worth learning:

Not drying a wool sweater in the dryer.
Not sticking a fork in an electric outlet.
Not taking take candy from strangers.
Planting beans.
Not feeding the bears.

Some things that are difficult to learn and probably not worth it:

Repairing a VCR
Translating Fifty Shades of Gray into Old Church Slavonic
Tuvan throat-singing Barry Manilow's greatest hits

It was quick and easy to learn Donald Trump is an ignorant, anti-American, dangerous communist fuckhead who'd sell his own mother for a nickel, just to say he did it.
