(16,334 posts)after our challenges with the bird feeders and seeing what squirrels were capable of, I thought it would be cool to build them an obstacle course.
Obviously, we don't have time to do this.

(22,171 posts)these guys are flying rats, nothing less. You can't shoot them (too dangerous w/ all of the close neighbors), they are destructive beyond belief, and you can't put out poison or the like, or you'll accidently poison cats, dogs, or other critters. We do have some re-introduced hawks, but the sheer number of critters running loose in the urban areas / cities is simply overwhelming.
That being said, thanks for putting up this cute and clearly engaging video. Someone clearly (besides the squirrel of course) put in a lot of time!!

Thanks for posting.

(2,599 posts)That obstacle course would have had to be constructed over time, one obstacle challenge following the next after allowing the squirrel(s?) to figure out how to negotiate first one, then the other. That's pretty darn cool.

Cruel, but - ashamed to say - rather funny at the same time. Like laughing at a person slipping on a banana peel.

(28,127 posts)After almost 2yrs of making friends, especially with one little genius dude, a damn hawk discovered my back deck buffet.
Sorry but I liked my friendly little rodents better than that hawk.
