I'm Recovering from the Flu

I don't think it was food poisoning because I hadn't eaten anything new or unusual in the 24 hour preceding. And I looked up the symptoms and they were a bit different.

I started getting chills and fever yesterday afternoon. That's very off because I usually run warm. I was upstairs, which is noticeably warmer than downstairs, but I had to put a blanket around me. I was very tired and slightly nauseated.

I went downstairs to watch TV and I slept some, watched some. I finally woke up around 11pm, sweatier than I have been in years, but not feverish. Yaayy! The fever was broken!

This morning, I'm feeling a bit weak and like a wrung out dishrag, but waay better than I was yesterday.

If there is something going around, good luck to everybody. The only good news is that the worst of it will last about a day.

Flu symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches, and fatigue.

Gastroenteritis, (24 hour virus) on the other hand, attacks your intestines, causing signs and symptoms, such as:
Watery, usually nonbloody diarrhea — bloody diarrhea usually means you have a different, more severe infection. Abdominal cramps and pain, nausea, vomiting or both, occasional muscle aches or headache, low-grade fever.

Food poisoning:the symptoms of food poisoning usually begin within one to two days after eating contaminated food, although they may start at any point between a few hours and several weeks later. The main symptoms include: feeling sick (nausea) vomiting, chills, dehydration, dizziness, fatigue, fever, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, malaise, weakness, or sweating

In any case, hope you're feeling better soon.

gastroenteritis.

To a medical provider like me, the term 'stomach flu' drives me crazy, as there is no such thing.

I educate my patients on the difference between the two, and try to help reduce the careless use of the term 'flu'.

It seems to be gastrointestinal because had fever, chills, fatigue, head and muscle aches, nausea. I was also slighty dizzy.

I did not have diarrhea, did not throw up, no stomach cramps.

I compare every digestive aliment with the food poisoning I got from rice several years ago. I was on the toilet for 36 hours straight and let's spare everyone the rest of the symptoms.

My wife was so sick, she canceled coming to Barcelona with me (NEVER happened before) and her mom was so serious she had to be hospitalized.

It is NOT a trivial thing!!

I've had food poisoning and I've never felt anything like that before. I'd rather have the flu!
