Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'm having a rough day so I've decided to share more flower photos
A car came down the street that looked just like the one my much loved sister drove. Before her health took a fatal turn, she used to stop by, unannounced, and we'd start weeding and talking. For a blissful instant I was thinking 'Yea! She can help me with the garden and we can have a good chat." Then my second thought was a crash of reality.
Anyway, wandering out around nature's beauty is a sure way for me to move past emotional walls. The first two photos are from my crab apple and pear tree. The third is an ornamental tree that I keep only because it is spectacular, for a brief period, during the Spring. The rest of the year it is just something else annoying around which I have to mow.

(31,408 posts)My best friend has decamped for the summer to her apartment in Ft. Lee, NJ. She didn't go last year because her husband had a stroke. They usually spend May-October in Jersey and then are back in Chapel Hill for the rest of the year. I'm going to miss her, a lot. She's getting up there in age, too, in her 80's.
Those are lovely flowering trees! Thanks for posting the photos.

(32,118 posts)I was a zombie for quite a while! The only thing that seemed to make me feel better was going outside and being surrounded by nature. I found gardening to be very therapeutic.
Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing. You have some nice memories of your sister.

(23,785 posts)Sorry about your sister. I can understand how you had a momentary flashback. But look at it this way, it was just her letting you know she is always with you.

(11,346 posts)Beautiful pictures. I've been doing yard work and tending to my gardens to take my mind off things.
It's definitely therapeutic and good for the soul. Your photos of your flowers are great! Is the white one a dogwood tree?
