Sitting here talking with the Newfie beware I'm rambling

He is in love with the grandson ,who is a month old. 0430 this morning I heard young mister crying down the hall, come on people I need a new diaper and a bottle and I cannot do it myself let’s go. And I told the kids go back to bed I got this. And yogi mr furry boy lays at his crib all night. And he followed us downstairs oh man we have to take care of the baby. Furry boy is now laying on the sofa with mister and muzzle is snuggled into his brother.

So our daughter asked if they could take yogi back to Maryland with them. As company for her as she is on maternity leave as our son in law works . So I’m asking him you wanna leave and go live with your baby. Really who am I to stand in the way of love.

Man - yogi you really want to go live with your baby,I know your up for the cause.

Yogi - I get a half ass tail wag as answer to my question.

Man - will this be a PCs old army term permanent change of station. Or a tdy temporary duty assignment.

Yogi - moves his head in answer so man can get a better angle to rub his ears.

Man - you know yogi I rescued you three years ago you were a baby puppy. The day I brought you through the door and the lady said oh my a puppy.

Yogi -licks his baby on his sleeper covered feet.

My wife - from the kitchen laughing getting coffee she just got up saying you know . Your discussion with furry boy reminds me when tevye when he was sitting with lazar wolf the butcher from fiddler on the roof.

Who am I to stand in the way of such love. And our children always had furry siblings from infancy to growing into young women. Well I have to go make breakfast the herd is moving. The herd as two thirteen year old boys dad can we have chip beef. I gotta get it on we’re playing football today with their friends. I quarterback both sides at 52 I still have a arm.

You sure do have a house full of love there. If only everyone could grow up in such a family...... I think we'd have a lot less troubles in the world. So will Yogi have a tdy?

Enjoy those kids today!

Is that child abuse feeding your sons SOS? Just kidding. I like grits with bacon crumbled into it better, but I know some strange people who really love chipped beef. It takes all kinds in this world.

I got off of chipped beef in Tech School. In those days everybody that came to Keesler AFB for their initial training were in PATS- personnel awaiting training for at least 2 weeks. Those 2 weeks were KP. A friend of mine talked me into volunteering, I know never volunteer, for pots & pans. That is a job that nobody wants. Well he knew what he was doing. This guy had resturant experience. Soon he had me trained in his system. Because it was considered the worst job in the mess hall they never tried to give us other jobs when we were slack. We had loads of time to gossip.

About chipped beef. There would be a deep well pan in the steam table of it every morning. It wasn't popular, too bad your boys weren't there. We would have to empty it out into the disposal while hosing it with hot spray. By the time 2 weeks was up I hated the smell and have never eaten it since. I did have SOS a few times before.

My dad retired from the Army and he hated chipped beef. He used hamburger when I grew up. He never told me about chipped beef.

So I go in the Army and think great, I love SOS! So I took as much as I could get and took one bite. It was awful and I had to eat it all.

Now I make it with deer burger.
