I would choose Tom Hanks myself. I think he would give the role nuance.

3. hanks is a good choice, but i think jeff goldblum would be interesting.

hanks would get it more accurately and respectfully, but goldblum would put more of his lost-in-the-clouds bumbling spin on it, which i think would work well for comey.

plus he's got the height thing down pat.

17. i don't see him as neurotic, or particularly jewish.

when i think of neurotic jewish man, i think of woody allen, and goldblum is not much like allen.

i think of goldblum more as the geeky science/math intellectual (the fly or the jurassic movies) with the geeky social awkwardness and pie-in-the-sky relation to reality, but i don't see him really doing much on the emotional side, hence no particular neuroticism.

i think goldblum captures what i think is going on inside comey's brain. again, not his mannerisms, but his inner dialog.


bryan cranston? i think he could do a fine job, but i'm not seeing any particular edge that he'd be adding.
