And you had to hang them on the car window, and the bugs could get into the car then.

And I was short and could never see over the dashboard to the screen when I was a kid.

Netflix rocks.

After that you had to tune to a certain station and everyone would end up with a dead battery. My hometown drive in is still going today. Still a great cheap night out

I later regretted not buying them.

They wouldn't have been a great sounding speaker for our "home theater," but they would have looked cool.

We loved going to the drive-in, playing on the swings and getting snacks from the snack bar. The family dog always came along.

That was actually a great idea that should be resurrected - no cell phones, talking etc.

In the wintertime, they even had heaters for your car at the drive in.

Along with parking on back-country gravel roads afterward, LOL.

Also remember standing in line outside at the snack counter, and having to move to another spot because a speaker was bad. I think admission was under a dollar. At that time, I was mowing large yards with a push mower for 50 or 75 cents.

In college (mid-60s), I had just got married and was poor as dirt. The drive-in theater in that town gave free admission for something like 10 Coke or Pepsi bottle caps. I rigged a magnet on a string and we went around to outdoor drink machines and got caps until we got enough to get in free. Those really were the good old days!

I so vividly remember the humiliation of being released out of the trunk to the shining lights of the owner. My friends and I were trying to save money so two of us climbed in back. LOL.........

There's a drive-in still in operation in the next town north from where I live. I haven't been there in many, many years, but I'm glad it's still going.
