A drag queen dressed as Elsa just single-handedly freed a stuck police wagon from a blizzard in the middle of March. If that sentence doesn't perfectly encapsulate the spirit of Boston, I don't know what does.

A fit and able person made the choice to aid a police vehicle - an entity with more than adequate resources to take care of itself. A nice gesture on Elsa's part, and an entertaining video, but I don't see any obligation for anyone else to jump in. I applaud the choice to give aid, but it's not a situation in which I'd criticize those who chose not to help out...

(21,768 posts)Two kinds of people in the world.
Those that see a situation and say "I need to pitch in and make this right".
And those that hoot and holler and scoff at the people doing what's right.

The yahoos laughing (and not helping) from inside is part of Boston (and many other places) as well.

Queen Elsa of Arendelle graced the streets of Boston Tuesday night, coming to the rescue of a police wagon stuck in the snow in the South End.
The Bostonian behind the costume? Jason Triplett, a 37-year-old attorney, who bought the Frozen costume last winter and wore it Tuesday night to give his friends a laugh.
That was worth it enough for me, he said.

(30,252 posts)It was slip-sliding on a patch of frozen road, headed straight for our car with ginbarn and her parents in tow. If I didn't get out and throw my weight into the oncoming SUV, we could have been pushed into a ditch on Christmas Eve.
That said, Elsa is truly the hero Boston needs. I salute her.
