(16,383 posts)I use a recipe w/o corn syrup for my pecan pies and it's not as sweet and has a nice texture.

(205,524 posts)I'm not a baker, but my mother was. She made great pies, apple, cherry, pecan, mincemeat, pumpkin, chocolate cream, but I never once remember her making blueberry.

I will enjoy pumpkin made in a grocery store, but apple has to be homemade.

(14,565 posts)I don't miss the Las Vegas buffets so much except for the daily availability of pies like that. Caesar's Palace always surprised me by fielding key lime pie.
I also love apple pie a la mode but the ice cream has to be cold and not warmed up. I can't imagine ruining that pie via a drippy ice cream puddle.
