Final night in basic training. "This place better be spotless" we were told. We could also get the Sony Walkmans back. I hadn't brought a Walkman but I went through the drawer and got a player, earphones, and then tried to find something to listen to. This was 1990 so most of the tapes were hairbands. I found the only group I knew of - The B52s Cosmic Thing. I listened to it for the next 6 hours or so. The place was indeed spotless. I was getting the hell out of there.
