A Final Act of Kindness

My dear Uncle passed today from a massive stroke. I am devastated. He was one of eight children born to a coal mining father. Even though they had little growing up, as devout Catholics all of the children were taught to share what they had with those less fortunate. All of them chose a life of public service.

His final kindness was organ donation. Because of his last gift, a blind person will see, someone dying of cirrhosis will live, and a student doctor will learn. I sit in my own pain and find myself thinking of the joy other families are experiencing now because of him.

God Bless You Uncle! I love you!

Signing up as an organ donor is a good thing. When I signed up, I told my parents and siblings so they would know just in case something happens to me.
