(22,899 posts)Are you having a four-day weekend? Lucky you!
Plans?
What is your idea of a perfect weekend?

(66,481 posts)I took some time off from work; not a real vacation (to me, a vacation involves luggage...), but just some time off. Mrs. Aristus is attending a knitting convention (yes, evidently knitters have conventions...), and in years past, she has wanted me to drive her, mostly so she didn't have to find and pay for parking. Based on the time she wanted to arrive, I would usually end up arriving late for work.
This time, I just decided to take the time off. After I drop her off, I have the day to myself, which is nice and quiet,
Wednesday, we had a nice Valentine's Day lunch together. But other than that and driving her to the convention, I have no real plans. I love having my own schedule for a change. In a few hours, I'm going to take myself out for a nice dinner.

(22,899 posts)I love having time to myself, which I consider the height of contentment. Gardening, reading, walking, etc. are all things I delight in. Probably sounds boring to some, but when one is an introvert, one gravitates toward peace and tranquility.

(4,858 posts)...if so, do something you never do. Just get away from it all for awhile. I'll be honest--I don't have the guts to do what you do. My admiration for your profession is unbounded. I couldn't take it. Try and relax if/when you can...

(66,481 posts)I'll have lots of time to myself until tomorrow night. Rather than try something new, I'm basically doing things I otherwise never have time for: binge-watching Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom, listening to long, uninterrupted pieces of music on my stereo, reading a good long book, etc.

(10,110 posts)I had Friday off and had two things to do on my list. One was run the car through the car wash, which I actually did. The other was to prep a room in my house to paint, but for some reason a nap that was not on my list prioritized itself instead.
Peace
