There are technically much better recordings, but not with the composer at the ivory.

my heart flutters (!) whenever I hear this piece, so chose this one for 'old times' sake.'

(102,285 posts)3. I have to say when the Russian pair skated to this I was thrilled, but hearing the snark from
(mainly) Johnny Weir about it being such a "Russian" performance left me pretty aghast. I know his pairing with Tara Lapinsky for commentary has been lauded, but I wish they'd left the snark for the practice runs only (or not at all).
I was really annoyed hearing him disparage them after that performance.
I thought it was a phenomenal and very emotional effort.
