In honor of Tax season coming up I submit this
When you take a break from filling out your tax form you can read through this
It is a story that while a person’s life on the outside might look all rosy and sweet
The inside is rotten to the core
I just ask that the people from Blue Oyster Cult forgive me

You see me now a veteran
of a million tax form wars
I’ve been living on the edge so long
Where tax forms fill my cubicle
Numbers plague my brain and
keep me from my sleep
I am far too old to see
All the scars are on the inside
I’m not sure that there’s anything left of me
Don’t let these forms go on
It’s time we had a break from them
It’s time we had some leave
I’ve been living in this mess so long
It gets bigger and bigger everyday

You ask me why I am weary,
why I say these things to you
You say 45 has enacted Tax Reform for you and me
I do not want you to fall for that lunacy
The wars are still going on dear

The auditor will always
recalculate your form

Years ago I had the double LP, those were the days ( I think it was a double LP ).
When I tried looking for A CD in the 1980's and 1990's, forget it
Then I got the DVD
And I the album from ITunes
I also have that piece of music that plays when Taarna is flying her winged-creature into the city
