Anyone here ever visited Fortress Louisbourg in Nova Scotia? Was French HQ in No America

We spent a day there in 1976. A fabulous place to visit. The Canadians do a wonderful job of preserving and presenting their historic memorialsl

I'm embarrassed to admit I don't remember ever hearing about the place when I was in school, although it apparently played an important role in our colonial history.

but haven't been to Louisbourg in years. When I was in high school we'd have a fully costumed re-enactor from Fort Louisbourg visit every spring to dole out job applications encouraging students to sign up for the summer.
