Who is on the road tonight?

If you’re away from home tonight, where are you? How far away are you? What prompted your journey?

I am in Miami, FL - around 1400 miles from home. I came here for a job interview. Until last week I never thought I’d be spending today in Florida.

I was sent by the leaders of my planet to carry out a mission I am not at liberty to disclose. My mission on this planet is not yet completed.

It sucks, because I think I left the air conditioner on, so my electric bill is going to be huge when I get back.

Good luck with your mission (provided it does not harm us mere mortals).

We are interviewing candidates in Florida under the guise of employment, to identify representative humans for our collection.

Ooops.

I am allowed to give you the passphrase to use during the interview.

Just say, "I prefer to work naked when possible" during the interview, and we will allow you to return home.

The worst part now is - that's all you're going to be thinking about during the interview.

But, remarkably, he hit the passphrase "I prefer to work naked, when possible" so we let him go.

I was born and raised in Texas but have lived in California most of my life. I've known this friend since second grade and she's a wonderful progressive. I've been here since mid-October (with the exception of two weeks in December for Christmas) and am homesick for my Pacific Ocean city of Redondo Beach.... However, Dallas is actually a very nice city and I've enjoyed it here.
