I bought a mini-oven years ago. The manual said that before using it, one should run it on maximum heat for half an hour with the lid open, so the greasing oils can evaporate.

but if my hair dryer started smoking, I'd unplug the damn thing, not get my phone to record it turning into a blowtorch.

but it was old and seemed like it was on the fritz. Now if I ever smell a hint of smoke, I unplug and get rid if it. I always clean the lint filter but I think hair can get sucked inside and catch fire.
