What's your favorite Elton John song?

Elton John Announces Retirement But Will Perform A Long, Long Goodbye Tour. Its the circle of life
Elton John is letting the sun go down on his performing days after all.

The bespectacled icon announced a three-year farewell tour and his subsequent retirement during a press conference on Wednesday.

“I’m not going to be touring anymore,” he told moderator Anderson Cooper at New York’s Gotham Hall.

“I’m not going to be touring and traveling the world. My priorities have changed. I have young children... That doesn’t mean I won’t still be creative,” the iconic singer said. “But I won’t travel any more ... I don’t want to go out with a whimper. I want to go out with a bang ... It’ll be the most produced, fantastic show I’ve ever done.”

Tiny Dancer is probably his best song. Also, Levon, from same album Madman Across the Water was great.

Never has such a beautiful sentiment been put to music.

After I had my son and I brought him home from the hospital, I used to sing it to him. We even danced to it at his wedding.

I saw him in concert twice...once in the mid seventies and then in 95. Absolutely great performances.

The best I can describe the experience is Elton Unplugged. No frills. Just his piano and his beautiful voice. It was just $65 per ticket. I went with my husband and my mother. I'll never forget it.

it was either 95 or 97 that we saw him in Tacoma and we hung around after the concert where his limos were parked to see him. His percussionist came out and started beating the hell out of the roof of one of the limos with his drum sticks for lack of a better description. It was in the news for a couple of days.

I have most of his work, but I consistently still play Madman Across the Water and Honky Chateau front to back every time. I listened to them last week, and usually listen to them a couple of times a month. He is one of the rock gods.

I love that song. I was lucky to see it performed live when he toured with Billy Joel. Elton John sang my favorite Billy Joel song that night too: New York State Of Mind.

Elton is known for his incredible catalog of great songs but these 2 stand out as rock-n-roll monsters in the vein of Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard.

A person simply must turn up the radio and shout hollar and sing every time they're on.
