Yes I know I should hire a chimney sweep but I'm curious about these logs.
We haven't used our fireplace in at least 7 years.

(102,408 posts)chimney at some point if it is an older house... Obviously they don't get rid of tree branches, bird's nests or other fire hazards within the chimney nor tell you if you have a dangerous crack or other issue.
I think you are supposed to use them every 50-60 wood fires. I have gas now, so no longer using.

(50,566 posts)I have sold a LOT of these...how you use them is to get your chimney cleaned before the fireplace season starts, then burn one Creosote Sweeping Log a month during fireplace season as a preventive maintenance measure.
