Keep repurposing your artifical tree -

?1514816232

Our time honored New Year's Day task is taking down the Xmas tree. BUT, rather than reboxing that artificial tree, why not keep it up and just use it during the entire year? Why not? Birthday Tree - Anniversary Tree - Graduation Tree - endless possibilities. Quite a few neighbors keep their outdoor lights hanging all year , just extend that laziness and expand your creativity.

"If you have an artificial tree and you enjoy the lighting and glow of celebrating things why take the tree down? Why not add to your living space with a Valentine tree or a Shamrock tree, or Halloween Tree, Flag tree or Sea Shell Tree during the summer? I am seriously considering leaving the tree up all year long and just changing out the decorations to fit the occasion.

One can have a Back to school tree, a Spring tree, and why should all the celebration lights just be for the Christmas holidays? I don’t think it should. I think with Valentines coming up… Turn off all the blue and green lights and keep the white and red… Cut out little Hearts and flowers and the same thing can be done for St Patrick’s day with cut out shamrocks and green lights. May Day...flowers and oranges and lemons… One can have back to school with pencils, notes, little cut out books….just up to one’s imagination. One can have a Fourth of July tree with flags and little cut out fireworks. I think it is maybe a novel idea and I think I will do it this year instead of spending a day to take down the tree…..and ALL the decorations and dress the tree accordingly."

But I have a small living room and the darn thing takes up too much space. I'm always happy when it comes down in January.

Plus if you did as the article suggests, you'd have a TON of decorations to store somewhere! My house ain't big enough for all that!

We were just discussing leaving it up and upon checking the calendar we found a minimum of one day a month to celebrate. Most months had two or three!

TJ says the fun is in decorating it, so the variety of occasions is good.

at least since '88. Not full-size ones, rather the tabletop sort. Current one is about 4.5'. Tremendous fun to decorate for each season, holiday (real Or imagined.)

Can be used to display sparkly jewelry, too.

Thanks for posting.
