A lot of people don't have them but they are nice to keep your passport safe. I'm a young woman and I love to travel. It runs in my family.

A nice large wool/cashmere shawl --- I wear one and use it as a blanket when the air conditioner is too cold or the heat is insufficient on the plane. Planes no longer have them OR they charge you an arm and a leg.

Nice, large and bright luggage tags are nice too, if she doesn't already have. Helps you distinguish your luggage from others in baggage claim.

It has come in handy as a shawl or blanket in flight and has also served me as everything from a casual skirt and beach cover-up to an improvised head and shoulder cover at a temple or mosque. I have also used it to sit or lie on at a beach or for a picnic, and it can even be used to carry loose parcels while shopping.
