(426 posts)....Not always, not consistently. I'm not offended by stuttering jokes. I always identified with Porky, especially his frustration in being unable to get the intended word out, then spitting out something similar in meaning. It does force you to develop a decent vocabulary.
But it always bothered me how Porky would stutter over words that don't bother most of us. I usually stumble on "a" "ah", "i", or "oh" sounds. And no, singing the words or diverting my focus with my hands doesn't help. Guess a promising career as an orator has escaped me!

Although it was painful and embarrassing at times I eventually quit stuttering. That success gave me the confidence to pursue career opportunities that always included public speaking as a position requirement.
Its never too late!
