Why are all of the stupid drug ads in slow motion?

Is that to get you to pay attention to the slow motion moving older woman holding out a slow motion flower to the slow motion smiling older man while the voice rambles on-

side affects include vomiting, reduced vision, increased gas, stinky feet, inability to operate machinery, bloated butt cheeks, possible to lose arm hair and you will have an orange tongue...

There has to be a study somewhere. Do they do this because of the age of the intended audience?

They have to make all the disclaimer comments so they set them up with calm slow movement and an hypnotic drone voice. They try to associate their product with peaceful feelings.
That's what I think anyway.

I don't think it's specific to age. The ones about depression are really bad. There's an intention to be soporific and induce a false sense of serenity, at least that's how I see it.

Before it they showed scenes of a living room collapsing into a backyard, collapsing into a mountain scene, like you were on the set of a movie sound stage. Before that, little people made up of inanimate objects walked & drove around little towns, while their drug helped get them through the day. There isn't much creativity in advertising. As soon as someone does something new, even if it's a crap idea, others imitate it. I really hated the commercial for the cleaning product where the bowling ball fell in love with the broom out in the garage. WTF? Someone really thought that was a clever way to sell a new type of broom to adults - adult women, really, since that's predominately who buys products like this. ???

Trying to make those on the ad appear more sympathetic? There is a certain dog here that has issues with that...

And whenever I hear the terrible side effects, I'm always grateful that I'm not taking whatever it is.

Purple poop sluggishly moving through the bowel until the person takes Miralax to get things going. What is it with the obsession with our bowels and how quickly the contents move through?
Ick....
