...John Wayne was wigged relatively early. it was funny watching the western "barber shop" scenes. They would show his hair on the floor... but never being visibly cut. Even in his last film "The Snootiest" nobody bought a "stunt wig" to actually cut on camera.

PS I apologize for commenting on Mr. Wayne's looks - but he comments on women's looks, so I think it's fair.

Thank Dog I was never wigged. He had a nice face though. My Dog, everybody is so on edge these days. Must be the political climate. No need to apologize. Careful of those eggshells.

..."The Shootist" - but I like "The Snootiest" better! My computer spell check does, too, but I corrected it back to what they say is wrong. Shootist should be a word. I knew several Rogers in my life, including some very nice ones!

...was a good movie about an old gunfighter looking for a place to die peacefully, and not finding it. Wayne threw us a curveball at the end off his film career, Ronnie Howard throws a wounded Wayne’s gun away, and Wayne nods yes and dies. He likely knew it would be his last film, and he seemed to be rejecting the gun culture he had helped to perpetuate.
His other really good movie was The Searchers, and he threw another curveball at the end which I will not spoil for those who have not seen it.

When he looks at his sons Graves and proclaims "They went bad on me." then he pauses as says "Or maybe I went bad on them".

In the end he redeems himself for the boys.

Repug so I hear. Interesting that (I'm pretty sure) 2 of his 3 wives were Asian.
