Just got home from Denver from seeing Maria Bamford...

The show was great but it happened to fall on the same night as the "Parade of Lights" downtown and the first night of "Wild Lights at the Zoo." Traffic there and back was thick. Whew. The city was beautiful, though.

Maria is a little....off the beaten path, so to say. I think she's hysterical but she's not for everyone. I'm not so sure my companion really got her. Oh well.

Netflix has a series on her?

Her life story is the subject of the 2016 Netflix original series Lady Dynamite, in which she plays the lead role. Her work has drawn critical acclaim as well as controversy as her subjects span from lighter to darker topics such as suicide and psychiatric conditions.

She is mentally ill and incorporates her illness into her material. She does it in a way that is funny but not exploitative, IMO. I'm sure it's a fine line. I really believe she has a genius, if fragile, mind.

To add on edit: Last night some of her material was quite political which is unlike her. The crowd ate it up. The last thing she said was, "Let's bring down Trump!"
