(182,883 posts)I've found in meals that I've put together in the past pairing it with Boone's Farm always ends up with guests leaving earlier and all the spirits disappearing too, regardless of how well I hide the caps.

For a little twist, fish out a few bottles of beer and add to the mix.

(4,533 posts)Really. Cheapness predicts higher ranking in blind tasting for all but experts. Before I learned that the idea of good wine vs bad wine lacks a scientific basis, at least for all but experts, I did my own blind tasting. I would have my wife put cheap or expensive wine in glasses. I do not reliably prefer good vs cheap. Now if I know the wine, if I see the label, the more costly does seem to taste better. So I suggest that you have someone put cheap wine in an empty bottle of expensive wine and drink that.
Really.

I am hoping someday to have a champagne tasting, with about five wines ranging from some extremely expensive high-end one, down to some lesser ones. I wouldn't include a real cheap one. Andre, for instance. Years ago I learned that when people told me they hated champagne, pretty much to a person they'd only ever had Andre.

(5,525 posts)Putting the bottle in a paper bag prior to drinking it really, really enhances the flavor.
Bonus: no glasses to wash, but you can go high zoot with Dixie cups.
Another bonus: wear long sleeves and you won't need no high-falutin' napkins.

(856 posts)I find myself morbidly fascinated by this product.
And does the can list what the various layers are? Pretty sure that's carrots second from the bottom, broccoli above that and mashed potatoes on top. That leaves a lot of mystery rings. Which is the turkey? Gravy has to be in there someplace. Cranberries? Sweet potatoes - or is that what I thought were carrots?
If you just plop it into a pot and stir it, well, that just gives me shivers. I guess you could slice the layers apart but who has that many pots? Maybe you could microwave all the individual parts.
But I really want to know what all the layers are AND the recommended cooking method.

No cooking: The food has been processed and sealed with gelatin so that all the starving console fan has to do on Christmas Day is open the tin and eat.
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

(25,183 posts)Gewurtztraminer goes well with turkey, but with the dinner pictured, use whatever you have on hand.
I sure hope that picture is fake, but after a few TV dinners I've had, I fear it is not.

(50,562 posts)Citrus-y nose followed by a faint hint of diesel. Dont be put off by the whiff of petrol though, it gives a remarkable structure to the body and carries through to the finish of this off-dry vino. The mouth-feel is light with a fine twinge of spritzich to finish mildly herbaceous. I like this a lot.
