...it's bright, moves well, and is gorgeously photographed. The shots of old Jerusalem, Istanbul, and the train going thru the countryside are mouth-watering. The script gives this old chestnut some real originality and zest, the acting is superb. Especially Michelle Pfeiffer, and Branagh himself as Poirot. The way he uses his eyes, his voice, how he moves...it's a pitch perfect performance, despite--maybe because--he's so different from David Suchet's Poirot. I'd recommend this to any Agatha fans...

(28,151 posts)Fell in love with him when I saw Henry V! He knows how to use voice inflections well. After his pre-Agincourt speech I was calling for my squire to bring me my sword!
Not fond of the Suchet version of Orient Express (tho' he's a fabulous Poirot!), maybe I'll take a look at this version.
