He also likes to play in the shower & bathtub when they have fresh water...and will cry at the door sometimes when we are inside
As a kitten I realized he has webbed feet!
...surely he is a MerCat

(9,527 posts)They loathe a closed door in general, but especially the bathroom. I haven't been allowed to do anything in there by myself since I got them. Which is probably a very sad sign that more interesting stuff happens in the bathroom than my bedroom.
The little cat loves to hop in the shower once I'm done. The other sometimes confuses my bathtub for her litter box. Usually that just means the litter box isn't clean enough for her standards, and really there are many worse places she could express her displeasure.

(17,006 posts)But I had no idea so many cats liked to hang out in a sink. They are truly weird little critters.

(11,802 posts)who drank beer of my wife's fingertips. Couldn't leave a glass of Southern Comfort out. He'd get into it and you'd find him zig zagging down the hallway. Couldn't believe it the first time. It was in my lap. He sniffed and looked up at me like, "do you mind?" I figured if he tasted it he'd be grossed out so I was paying more attention to the tv than him. Next thing I hear is him lapping it up like milk! And I'm like hey hey hey man enough! Little dude got himself good and drunk. Sat down next to me, purred for 35-40 minutes and passed out. Craziest cat I've ever owned. Man I miss him.

(205,467 posts)When I pour water in the dog's dish, he comes running over and sticks his head under it. I know it's important for cats to drink more water, but he doesn't seem that interested in drinking it, he's just interested in the running water - and he's done the same thing in the kitchen sink...

(13,786 posts)Do you have any insight into why they might drink that way?
Adds to the flavor?

(205,467 posts)I have friends with cats who expect them to turn on the faucet. There are also cat fountains. I'm not sure that would help my cat, though - he doesn't drink from the faucet or larger dog's dish, he just like to splash around.
