(60,010 posts)I dread it. The high tomorrow is only around 55, 20 degrees less than today.. and the nights are gonna hit low 30's.
I just don't know how we are gonna get thru it till the warm up Tuesday.

(16,254 posts)It snowed. I don't know how much they will get (1-3" forecasted), but it is pretty. A bit early, though.
Time to put on a pot of chili.

(11,843 posts)I'm half way in between and the couple inches we got here will be gone soon enough. Enough to stick on the lawn, but what hit the streets is melting. This is not the start of snow cover, it's just a reminder that this is Minnesota.

Last year, we hardly had any snow. Maybe I should move to Minnesota.

(11,843 posts)Duluth gets lake effect snow on occasion, but all that water in Lake Superior at 32 degrees keeps it a bit warmer right on the shore.
I grew up with Lake Superior about 100 yards from my front door.
Winter is up to 3 weeks shorter in Rochester and up to 2 weeks longer in International Falls, on the Canadian Border. It's about 350 miles direct line between Rochester and Frostbite Falls.

So, I love winter.

(6,129 posts)I especially love blizzards. Nobody goes out; we all watch the wind and snow outside our windows. After the storm, the bare branches of the trees are coated with white frosting. Gorgeous.
