seem to care. I have posted 2 threads and barely got a response. It's funny, they get all uptight on issues here, most of which would be solved, or at least the will of the majority of us would come through, if Americans would push hard enough (very hard) to force the bought off SOB's to pass it!

Thank you Texas. It's just so easy to connect the dots. I mean look at support for universal background check for gun purchasers. It polls at over 90%, politically speaking that's more popular than a sunny day. But can we have it? No. Because of the gun lobby and all of the politicians it either owns through CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS (Hello!) or intimidates by threatening to back an opposition candidate. The public option in health care, same thing. Ending subsidies for oil companies, same thing. All polling off the charts but we can't have it. Because we don't pay for our elections. Corporations and special interests own our government because they fund our elections. Period. The will of the people will only be fully represented when our elected officials are beholding to no one but us. And publicly funded elections would pay for themselves 1000 times over in the savings created by ending the corporate payola/crony capitalism system which naturally arises from this pay to play election system. It's so obvious and F*ing simple!

12. Too true! There is so much $ being spent it boggles

the mind! We have legalized bribery and extortion in our political process and our corporate media are all in the tank as well! OWS showed that the powers that be will not give up power willingly. OWS was a futile excercise b/c they had no focus or direction. To fight for campaign finance reform will take many more bodies and a lot of commitment. We will see.
