The Barenaked Ladies, a children's choir, and the commander of the International Space Station. Put them together and what do you get? The first space-to-earth musical collaboration.

The song, "I.S.S. (Is Somebody Singing) was commissioned by CBCMusic.ca and The Coalition for Music Education with the Canadian Space Agency to celebrate music education in schools across Canada.

.... Chris Hadfield can really sing! Someone needs to give him a recording contract as soon as he gets back down here. What did the song say... that he gets to watch the sun rise 16 times a day? Now, if my calculations are correct, his days are 1.5 hours long. Day is 45 mins, night is 45 mins. That would wear me out. I would have to have a sleeping mask to get any rest. And I love Barenaked Ladies. "If I had a million dollars, I'd buy you a house..." That's my favorite song by BNLadies. And it wouldn't have been right without the children's choir. And the Set. Wow!

If this kind of thing can happen, then things aren't all bad.

Makes me feel good and gives me hope. (And I'm one pretty cynical creature.)

Thank you again.
