Past peak Republicanism

Gil Smart says the GOP philosophy of "if you can't win, change the game" betrays existential panic - Republicans know they're doomed demographically, so instead of appealing to a new generation of voters, they've decided instead to cheat.

Republicans are cheaters, but they are not politically naive. They know that since racism and reviving the "Red Scare" failed (President Obama was reelected anyway) they must either change their core policies or find other ways to cheat. For them, finding other ways to cheat is the more palatable of the two. Voter suppression and Gerrymandering districts are the tactics they have chosen. Look to the GOP to work both of these like temporary hires for the next four years. They seem determined to die out as a major, national political party.
