(4,253 posts)People have smart brilliant minds. many are being shunted to video games and janitor work. Also she said in her lecture that many kids are going to school to sign up to wall streets riches instead of doing what they are good at and helping society.. my post on DU. I am on my tablet now and don't know how to copy and paste. I am not talking about the HBO movie but a 2012 lecture. She is awesome and has several doctorates...I noticed my post is on the video section
What struck me was how she pointed out how autistic people see things differently. She brought up the BP disaster link and explained what they did wrong. Also she brought up what was not seen in Japan in the nuclear meltdown but she saw.
So much wasted brain power in America.

(22 posts)...from Paddy Chayefsky's Network from 1976:
Amazing prescience of the global revolution of today committed by those whom I fondly refer to as the Corporazis. (I offer this not as a rebuttal to Damon/Affleck's writing, but as an underscoring and amplification.)

(39,451 posts)about what movie he will be in. He uses his talent for more than acting, he also picks movie that tell a story.
Did you see the Adjustment Bureau? It is really not that far from what Netflix is doing to us.
Also I cannot wait for his new movie to come out next month about fracking.
Even the feel good movie We Bought A Zoo sent a message about little people doing great things. And caring about animals.
He is a real special man, amazing actor, a true humanitarian - and dang - easy on these old eyes!

(36,649 posts)What most of them don't realize - or don't acknowledge - is that any dumbass can win when they rig the system.
Which means that the Top 1% - the well-to-do, the über-wealthy, the richest fucking people in the history of humanity - aren't any better, or smarter, or luckier, or more blessed by God, or more deserving of govt help, than the average schmuck who's been out of work for the last year-and-a-half & whose house is being foreclosed out from under them.
