Thom Hartmann: I thought we voted for Democrats?

With just 13 days to go until America goes over the fiscal cliff - Progressives across America are asking why President Obama chose to put social security cuts on the bargaining table. Why is the president letting Republicans hack away at social security - instead of presenting progressive solutions that can help us avoid the cliff?

However, unfortunately, we had no other alternative. About half of Congress is made up of millionaires and, frankly, all too many of them (and maybe President Obama) regard us as superfluous.

Funny that there has been NO discussion regarding national security/empire maintenance budget (Pentagon, war funding, the alphabet soup of intelligence agencies, etc.). Roughly, a trillion dollars goes to maintenance of American global hegemony every fucking year.

President Obama WON the goddamned election. The Rs are sociopaths and the more he gives in, the more the Rs want and take. The Rs simply DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING other than power: how to acquire it, how to wield it and, most importantly, keep it.

Thom Hartmann is the man! I agree whole-heartedly with these ideas and this message. I only wish Thom could somehow
bend the ears of the politicians in charge.
