(42 posts)Dr King and his descendants surely want peace across earth. Human dignity fluorishes when peace sets in the land. So, if you are going to stirr these memories, put it in the proper context. He deserves to rest in PEACE.

(3,992 posts)What world class grace and class Coretta showed here, under such intense & stressful circumstances.
Thank you for posting this. It takes me back to when I was 17, and was crushed by the assassination of Martin ...and then Bobby. 1968 was a bleak year for optimists of all ages. Jack had been assassinated only five years earlier, and it seemed that we weren't going to get out of the 60's with any of our young heroes alive ...and it seems that we didn't.
I believe now, much like Coretta hoped then, that Martin's death has done a great deal to further the cause of civil rights; and place the stamp of dignity on all those courageous enough to fight the non-violent good fight -- knowing full well how much they'd be hated by the opposition, and misunderstood by many in their ranks (who understandably were tempted toward violent retaliation).
Thank you Martin for risking it all (this video expresses my thoughts here, far better than I can):
