Recently a friend's cat was on my lap. I was petting the cat. She was purring at first. Then she decided she'd had enough of being petted and started hissing at me! While remaining curled up on my lap!

Hands in the air, I knew I didn't touch it. I called the poor girl PTSD kitty. She'd had an injury as a young kitten and I don't think she connected the pain with it.
