Mark Twain Tonight: "There Is No Art To The Silent Lie- It Is Timid And Shabby"

Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain discussing the lie, truth, Christian missionaries and slavery...

(the audio only emits from the left speaker (!) but the message could not be clearer)

I post this as Hal Holbrook will be in Hannibal, MO doing this show TONIGHT in Clemmons' boyhood home.

I saw Mr Holbrook performing "Mark Twain Tonight" 39 years ago in a new outdoor amphitheater on the banks of the Mississippi at sunset with my best girlfriend ever. It's reserved in my fondest memories of youth and love. It was a great show too.

100+ years old and still funny and relevant.

Actually the relevant part might actually be sad. It says we haven't gotten that far.

But in the space of human history, 100 years used to be nothing.
