Haven't watched, but Russia is breaking it at same time claiming to Africa that West is responsible

Wow, that's really smart. Hold third world countries hostage to get a deal on Ukraine.

Sounds like he's losing on the battlefield and casting about for a bargaining chip.

(49,248 posts)1. Title lies. Deal was sponsored.
The UN (United Nations) sponsored it.
(I know, it will be claimed to be a typo, but the point is that careful proof-reading is needed. One typo in 50 letters and the result is the exact opposite.)

I have made the appropriate correction based on your correct correction.

Africa depends on Ukrainian grain and fertilizers for life-sustaining food.
Russia (Putin) thinks he can make gains in the long run by claiming now that the West is responsible for no fertilizer or food shipments. Putin will not be around or in power long enough to have that effect.
In the meantime and going forward, Russia blocking food and fertilizer will damage their brand for decades.

Sounds pretty desperate to me. Talk about struggling to hold the low moral ground.

Just like Saudi is manipulating gas prices.

(23,236 posts)10. And only fools will fall for that. I don't think our military or intelligence services are staffed
with fools, or the sycophants that Putin and Trump rely on to stroke their egos. The outcome of the war will be determined by the determination of Europe, America, India, and Japan to see through Putin's bullshit and act in the interests of all of us. We will all have to suck up some pain in terms of energy and food costs, but that will last only as long as Russians can put up with the pain of losing their sons, their jobs, and their self respect.
