Paying taxes on taxes that DeSantis imposed and that Trump happily gave with the tax cuts.

This assumes that the counties will decide to deliver the same services and fund them exclusively through taxes on local property owners.

Neither has to be the case.

If RCID actually is undone (and that's by no means certain) Disney will almost certainly still be paying - and quite possibly more than they pay now.

They'll have to pay whatever the new governing authorities decide to charge them.

Or worse yet... the governing authorities might decide not to keep up all those pristine roads and other services at the level that Disney wants them maintained.

Or both.

That’s probably why they passed this now but gave themselves over a year before it becomes effective.

Well… that along with the hope that Disney will come crawling back hat in hand.

If so, there would be little difference between the amount of tax each homeowner pays.

How dare Disney disagree, in public, with the king? The area votes Democratic, so DeSantis sees it as a win-win.
